Sara's Car, Day One

Here is a quick update on the progress of the work I am doing on the Honda Civic. More work is still to come to achieve the finished product.

Here is some of the rust that is causing all the problems
Here is after I started grinding the rust spots. I notices that this is not the first time the rust as appeared here, because I had to grind through someone's repair job. It has been repainted before.
Here is the rust on the hood, there are also a ton of little rust spots and holes all over the hood.
We decided to repaint the whole hood because of the many holes, rust spots and dents.
Here is the spots I grinded after they were sand blasted, big difference.
The red is just some primer, it is some stuff I used on my truck a long time ago when I tried to fix some rust spots.
Here is the hood after wet sanding it.
This is how we painted the hood.
The car is ready to have the fender repainted.
Finished product of the day, but we are likely going to wet sand it and repaint it the next day.
Here is the fender looking pretty good. Won't even know there was rust there until it comes back again in a few years.

  1. Painting is good and all... but how good are you at getting major dents out of doors?

  2. Depends, send me a good picture of it before vacation. Because there are a few ways to get dents out, but most aren't practical methods for us unless we through time and money at it. Just send me a pic.
